Theresa Ann "Mushcat" (Mascherino) Bogush
Theresa Ann "Mushcat" (Mascherino) Bogush, 82, of Downingtown passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Brandywine Hospital after her battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. She was the beloved wife of Edward M. Bogush, Sr., with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Maria Felice Nolli Mascherino.
She was a 1946 graduate of Downingtown High School and was employed by the Downingtown Area School District as a cafeteria manager for 30 years, retiring in 1993.
Theresa was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Parish, as well as St. Anthony's Ladies' Auxiliary, Downingtown Little League Ladies' Auxiliary, St. Joseph's Ladies' Auxiliary, St. Joseph's Prime Timers, and St. Anthony's Lodge Pool where she was a gate attendant. Theresa was also a cook and server for the annual Frog Party at St. Anthony’s Lodge, and worked the election polls at West End Downingtown Alert Fire Company. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and going to Downingtown sporting events. She also loved the beach at Wildwood, NJ.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bogush is survived by her sons, Edward M. Bogush Jr. of Downingtown, Gary R. Bogush and his wife, Bonnie of Bowmansville, and James J. Bogush and his wife, Joni of Glenmoore. She is also survived by her sisters, Laura Reutter, Antionette "Doniet" Morris, and Frances "Franny" Alesiani, and sister in-law, Alice Mascherino; and by grandchildren, Daniel, Meaghan, Peter and Timothy. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ri-Ri Bogush; and by brothers, Dominick "Daddy" Mascherino and his wife Emily, John "Toppy" Mascherino, and Louis "Louie" Mascherino and his wife Florence; and by brothers in-law, Henry Reutter, John Morris and Robert Alesiani.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335. A visitation for family and friends will be held at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, on Monday, June 28 from 6- 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 29 from 9-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Downingtown.
